A recent discussion on a Painter group led me to post the images below. In Painter, I used a group of brushes called "Impasto" to create some paintings. I then printed them out on an "acrylic-look" canvas material. It is a finely woven linen material, that has been primed with an acrylic primer. This primer has a bit of "glitter" to it, and lends a rather sparkly finish to the piece after printing. There is an "oil-look" canvas material available as well; the linen weave is larger and the primer has a duller finish, with the end print looking more oil-like. The Impasto brushes give you the illusion of brush-stroke depth on the canvas. When people see these canvases, they are convinced they are actual paintings, and are boggled that they are digital prints. So, I took digital photos of the final image on the canvas so you can "see" some of the effects. Click on the thumbnails below to view the images.
This particular canvas was printed by Image Snap, in Santa Cruz, CA. I have also printed onto the canvas using my Epson 3000 with archival inks with similar results.
